So, this is my first post. I better make it a good one. Ok, here goes…
Last weekend, the Hubby and I celebrated the Bub’s first birthday. It was very exciting. We had a great time with all the family at Bockett’s Farm – stroking donkeys, goats, bunnies and the like. But the real treat was waiting for us back at the house.
Everyone who knows me knows that my sister (a.k.a. Auntie Lottie) does the most fabulous birthday baking. And she didn’t disappoint.

But as well as the beautifully iced birthday biscuits, chocolate peppermint and strawberry creams, it was the cake that stole the show.

As you can see, it looked amazing. And tall. Four layers deep of jam-filled, buttercream, sponge cake, sugary iced loveliness. And unashamedly, many of us went back for seconds – well, who wouldn’t? And the birthday girl? She loved it. Well, having reached the grand old age of one, she’s deserved it.
